The correct lighting in your home can not only enhance your décor but also prevent accidents and eyestrain. Foyers and stairways that are too dark not only scare the kids but may cause you to fall or trip. Main lights should be at the head of stairs rather than the bottom. This will light up each step and the riser, instead of throwing them into shadow.

Harsh light between viewers and television will cause eyestrain. Wall or table lamps will create a softer light for the evening’s TV viewing. Spot lamps may be needed for those who want to read or do homework. Bedroom lights need a dimmer switch so that you can set a romantic mood in the evening.
