Home lighting is a great way to add an extra design element to your home. It can accentuate your decor or even become the main focal point of the room. One great way to do this is with lamps. Lamps come in a wide variety of styles and colors to compliment any décor. These can be used to create mood lighting or be the main source of lighting in a room.  If you use a combination of floor lamps and table lamps that coordinate it will tie a room together nicely. Lamps can also be used to tie a main lighting feature such as a chandelier. This will help bring a room together and make it flow.

Lighting fixtures such as chandeliers are another great way to create a focal point in a room such as a entry or family room. These type of lights can be used as a focal point to work your décor around. For example if you hang a chandelier over a coffee table in the center of a room it will create a focal point to draw your eye to it.  Then you can create a design theme that will compliment all of the elements in the chandelier.  If your chandelier has beautiful scroll work it will accentuate any scroll work in your furniture and even the designs in the fabric.

What ever you do you want your lighting to be noticed but not be overpowering. It should be used to accentuate or add to features and not be the only thing that you can focus on in a room.
